Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Quakou is an email program that runs on your own computer. This policy explains what Quakou does with your information. In short: your mail stays on your computer, Quakou has no servers of its own, and nobody at Quakou can read your mail.

What Quakou keeps, and where

Quakou does not send any of this to Quakou or to anyone else. There is no Quakou account, no Quakou cloud and no Quakou server.

Who Quakou connects to

Google user data

When you add a Gmail or Google Workspace account with "Sign in with Google", Quakou asks for access to your Gmail (https://mail.google.com/) and for your email address. Quakou uses this access only to show you your mail, to send the mail you write, and to carry out what you ask (for example moving, flagging or deleting messages) in your own mailbox.

Quakou's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Microsoft accounts

When you add an Outlook.com, Hotmail or Microsoft 365 account with "Sign in with Microsoft", Quakou asks for permission to read and send your mail through IMAP and SMTP, and for your basic profile (name and email address). As with Google, this access is used only to show and send your own mail, on your computer.

Removing your data

Children

Quakou is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
